Eligibility Criteria

Under the VA’s MISSION Act, there are six eligibility criteria to receive health care in your community. Meeting any one of these criteria means that you’re eligible to receive care either through the VA or a community provider in the VA’s network. Below are the two most common eligibility criteria met by Veterans who visit Livingston Hearing Aid Center.

VA Medical Facility

Average drive time to a specific VA medical facility

30-minute average drive time for primary care, mental health, and noninstitutional extended care services (including adult day health care)

60-minute average drive time for specialty care

Appointment at VA Medical Facility

Appointment wait time at a specific VA medical facility

20 days for primary care, mental health care, and non-institutional extended care services, unless the Veteran agrees to a later date in consultation with their VA health care provider

28 days for specialty care from the date of request, unless the Veteran agrees to a later date in consultation with their VA health care provider

Eligible Veterans can use VA health care services nationwide. Please note you need to be enrolled in VA health care to use community care benefits. Livingston Audiologists are certified in-network VA providers and may provide services to those veterans who meet eligibility criteria under the MISSION Act and who have the proper referral. Co-pays may still apply based on your specific VA benefit. To find out if you are eligible under the MISSION Act contact your local VA primary care physician.
